High Value Soy Products

US soy protein isolates, which are approximately 90% protein, are sold in Bangladesh by THE SOLAE COMPANY and, potentially, by others.  These isolates are used in various health supplements and nutrition products, e.g., soy health drinks and protein biscuits.  USSEC/ASA-IM is also working to promote other high value products like soy milk, soy flour and soy nuts.

Our Program

To promote US-made isolates, USSEC/ASA-IM organizes various programs, such as seminars, workshops and soy product exhibitions.  -IM also provides in-house training and soy industry tour opportunities for key industry persons.  One-on-one briefing sessions are also organized.  To the maximum extent possible, these activities are conducted in coordination with US exporters.

Also as part of the USSEC/ASA-IM soy protein promotion effort, a TV talk show, “SOY LIFE”, was produced and telecasted in 2004 on local TV channels.  Physicians, nutritionists and extension workers participated in highlighting the health benefits of soy protein.  This program is still used extensively in video CD and DVD format for selected audiences.

The USSEC/ASA-IM team is also cooperating with local entities for the establishment of a US IP (identity preserved) soybean and US made soy flakes -based soymilk industry in Bangladesh.
