Upon its formation in 2005, USSEC assumed responsibility for this office. All of USSEC's operations in this region are marketed under the ASA-IM brand. The Asia Subcontinent office conducts seminars and workshops throughout South Asia to promote soybean utilization in the food and feed sectors. |

North AsiaHistory and General InformationThe American Soybean Association opened the Beijing, China office in 1982. In 2011, it became the regional headquarters for the North Asia Region. All of USSEC's operations in this region are marketed under the ASA-IM brand. USSEC staff and consultants work closely with Asia's livestock producers, feed millers, aquaculture industry, soybean processors and the traders and distributors who supply their needs. The work in Asia over the past 50 years has enhanced the technology and thus the efficiency and productivity of Asia's livestock, aquaculture and feed industries.

Upon its formation in 2005, USSEC assumed responsibility for this office. All of USSEC's operations in this region are marketed under the ASA-IM brand. This office serves Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and the Caribbean Basin. Mexico and Central America are growth markets. The growth in the soybean market has been primarily due to the higher inclusion rates of meal and oil in feed formulations, increased consumption in the poultry, swine, livestock, and aquaculture industry, improved oil quality, and increased distribution and consumption in the Hotel, Restaurant, Industrial sector and new uses for soybean oil. |

The office serves 37 countries including the primary U.S markets of Turkey, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Azerbaijan, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates (Dubai). USSEC's focus in this region is to build the market through programs that focus on purchasing, crushing, soy oil refining, fullfat soybean meal, feed formulation, poultry, dairy, aquaculture, soy flour, and soy food. |

Southeast Asiawww.asaimsea.comHistory and General InformationUSSEC Southeast Asia has a primary office located in the Republic of Singapore with four regional offices located in Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Philippines. The Singapore office also extends its efforts into Malaysia. The American Soybean Association opened the Singapore office in 1979 to serve the Southeast Asia region. Upon its formation in 2005, USSEC assumed responsibility for these offices. All of USSEC's operations in this region are marketed under the ASA-IM brand.Southeast Asia is a growth market for soybeans and soybean meal ranking as the U.S.'s 5th and 3rd, respectively, largest export customer worldwide. The crushing and soyfood industries will continue to rely on soybean imports to meet their needs as local production in the region is static. The feed and livestock industries are expected to grow by a healthy 10-15% over the next few years. This will drive increasing demand for soybean meal; and as poultry, livestock, and aquaculture producers become larger and more technically sophisticated, that demand will shift increasingly to higher quality dehulled soy meal. The use of full-fat soybean meal is also an expanding market. |
